Hello everyone,
So just when I was thinking that I hadn't seen any pulgas yet (fleas), I woke up one morning to see all kinds of blood spots all over my shirt and sheets! eeeeeeeeeewwwwwww. I showered myself in bug spray and haven't had the problem since. I have a different but related problem though . . . little girls. I think little girls have always liked me, but here in Chile they are like pulgas when I walk down the street. They are cute and I am not complaining, but sometimes it is a little overwhelming. They stare a lot. And hug me randomly. And call me tia. It is funny.
It to amazes me to see the Chileans and their faith. They are so different than Americans. ALL of them (ok, I know I haven't met all the people in Chile, but too bad I am going to generalize in this email) have an incredible faith in Jesus Christ. Every single one that I have met testifies with all of their heart that He lived. And they are so sincere. They believe it 100%, you can feel it and see it in their eyes. I have so much respect for them when it comes to that. I wish I could be more like that.
New Years here was good, but just a normal day for the most part. We were all dead asleep at midnight! I have never slept so soundly in my life as I do on the mission. All the other Chileans were out partying : )
Well, that is it for now,
Hermana Gamboa
